Florida Gulf Coast House On Stilts

As we left Apalachicola we drove towards Alligator Point since Dog Island was out of the question that day. We ended up at Bald Point which was very nice and as we drove there we passed so many houses built on stilts to withstand the floods and winds of Florida. This house, with the freshly planted Palm Trees seemed a rather strange image as the house semed out of place amongst the sand dunes of the area; plopped down in the middle a lovely place but as no-one was home it semed abandoned and there was no sign of life as we drove past! Odd!
