Mauna Kea Aerial View

Mauna Kea Aerial View : Flying into Hilo we passed over North Kohala and started our descent and from our window could see the peak of Mauna Kea rising above the clouds. Mauna Kea rises 13,796 feet above sea level and is topped with snow while below the clouds the Big Island is warm and dry. Mauna Loa is the second largest peak on the island, slightly smaller, and is just to the right in this picture. It is definately worth it to ensure you have a window seat as you fly the inter-island flights between the islands! DAMI
